Celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday with Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan!

Posted Under - Features // Inspiration // Projects

In honor of Canada Day, which is just around the corner on Saturday, July 1, we’re featuring a great project (several, actually!) by Ottawa stockist Katrina Barclay of Malenka Originals. Katrina and her team collaborated with several local furniture painters in her area to use Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday!

Says Katrina, “I lived outside Canada for eight years before becoming an Annie Sloan Stockist. Although I loved living abroad and having new experiences in other countries, I’m so happy to be back home. There’s the obvious things I love about this country – the nature, the open space, the peace and safety we enjoy. But there are a lot of other reasons I’m proud to be a Canadian: universal healthcare, one-year maternity leave for new mothers, and that we’re a welcoming place for others – we took in over 45,000 refugees in 2016 alone. Oh, and there’s also poutine and maple syrup. I love those too!”

And with Mardi Gras just around the corner on February 28, we’re even more in love with the city than ever! Today we’re sharing some of our favorite shots from around the Crescent City with you.
