In honor of Canada Day, which is just around the corner on Saturday, July 1, we’re featuring a great project (several, actually!) by Ottawa stockist Katrina Barclay of Malenka Originals. Katrina and her team collaborated with several local furniture painters in her area to use Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday!
Says Katrina, “I lived outside Canada for eight years before becoming an Annie Sloan Stockist. Although I loved living abroad and having new experiences in other countries, I’m so happy to be back home. There’s the obvious things I love about this country – the nature, the open space, the peace and safety we enjoy. But there are a lot of other reasons I’m proud to be a Canadian: universal healthcare, one-year maternity leave for new mothers, and that we’re a welcoming place for others – we took in over 45,000 refugees in 2016 alone. Oh, and there’s also poutine and maple syrup. I love those too!”
